Waylead Properties proudly participated in the 2024 Housing Fair, held from August 2nd to August 4th at the GHUD Children’s Park, Accra Mall. This prestigious three-day event, organized by the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL) in collaboration with the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), marked its third edition in five years, attracting a wide array of visitors including potential homebuyers, investors, and real estate enthusiasts.

This year’s fair, themed “Green Housing: Safe and Secure Home Ownership – Let the Buyer Beware,” focused on promoting sustainable and secure real estate practices. Attendees were provided with essential insights into the housing sector, emphasizing the importance of due diligence in property purchases. The event served as an excellent platform for both seasoned and first-time buyers to gain the knowledge needed to make informed decisions when investing in real estate.

The event kicked off with an opening address by Mr. Patrick Ebo Bonful, President of GREDA, who stressed the importance of understanding market trends and the legalities of property acquisition. He highlighted the need for careful consideration in real estate transactions to avoid unforeseen costs and issues. Mr. Bonful also made a strong case for the removal of the 5% tax imposed on real estate, advocating for government support to ease the burden on developers and buyers alike.

Mr. Ato Afful, Managing Director of GCGL, further elaborated on the fair’s theme, emphasizing the collaboration’s role in advancing the country’s real estate market. He discussed the need for smart, energy-efficient building processes, especially in the context of Ghana’s climatic conditions, to enhance indoor comfort and promote green living.
